12TH NOVEMBER 2010
The Cream of Scotland's Wedding Industry Shine at the 2010 Vows Awards

Scotland’s leading wedding suppliers were celebrating at the VOWS Awards on Monday night (8th November), when around 600 people from the country’s top wedding companies attended the only awards ceremony of its kind in Scotland.
Winner of the Transport Award was Ivory Choice Bridal Cars.
Ken collected the award, and told the VOWS Awards’ media sponsor the Scottish Wedding Directory:
”It’s absolutely amazing to win. We’ve been in business for 21 years building up to this and although we have never given out a nomination form, our customers have been kind enough to nominate our company for this award which we are delighted to have won.We would like to thank all who took the time to participate in gaining us this prestigious award and we promise all couples who are contemplating getting married in the future this continued special level of service”.
Now in its sixth year, the VOWS AWARDS 2010 (Voted Outstanding Wedding
Supplier) is a celebration of Scottish wedding companies offering the best possible service to couples planning their big day. All votes were cast either online or by post, by brides and grooms themselves, with the winners chosen from the shortlisted list of nominees by a panel of industry professionals – Kirsten Ferguson from Visit Scotland, Alan Gebbie of Investors in People, Stewart Roxburgh from Scottish Enterprise.
This year over 11,000 votes were cast by members of the public (1,000 more than last year), making VOWS the biggest and most representative awards ceremony of its kind in Scotland.
The 20 winners were announced at a gala dinner at the Hilton Glasgow Hotel, and the evening was hosted by comedian and broadcaster Fred MacAulay.
Judge Stewart Roxburgh was impressed by the high standard of both nominees and winners across all the categories. “There is no doubt in the minds of the judges that the quality of applicants made our job far tougher this year,” he said. “The standard of applicant was exceptionally high and remains a credit to Scotland's wedding industry.”
The judges also noted the number of businesses that are investing in new media to capture customer interest. “Whether it’s a new website, a Twitter campaign, or video clips on YouTube, the same rules apply. The quality of message, the focus on exceptional personal service, the best products, and a 'no problem' attitude will always secure business. In 2011 and beyond, Scottish companies will have to try even harder to secure new business as customers look to reduce costs while still demanding the very best.”
If you have been happy with the service you received from us and wish to recognise this by nominating us for the Vows Award for 2012 we would be very grateful for your support.
